Well, I held out as long as possible but can’t contain myself any longer. This is in response to Jason Etheredge’s Aug. 29 comments accusing Bill Connor of hate speech in his Aug. 22 article.
I was really struck by Jason’s blindness. But believe it or not, he typifies so many other people’s blindness. Jason, you told Bill not to take verses out of context and use them for his own benefit and then in the same sentence you state you’re researching subjects and not assuming it’s correct since it’s in the paper. Well you’re doing the right thing by researching and not assuming. But it’s pretty obvious you are not paying attention. The reason I say that is because when you printed the whole verse, how did you miss the main point? SLAY THE IDOLATERS. You tried to defend the verse by saying that verse is only in reference to those whom they made an agreement with. I don’t get it. They’re to slay the ones they made an agreement with? What kind of nonsense is that?
At first I thought maybe there was a misprint. But upon further investigation I found the quote in the paper to be correct. But let’s say for argument’s sake I misunderstood what that verse was trying to say. Suppose I didn’t understand the “Declaration of Immunity” from Allah and his messenger to those of the idolaters with whom you made an agreement. (Qu’ran 9.1) Let’s say I don’t understand what it means when in the 3rd verse of that same chapter where it says “Allah is free from liability to the idolaters, and so is his messenger.” Am I supposed to think it means something other than what it says?
For anyone who has really done the research instead of merely saying they did, they’ll find the Qu’ran teaches intolerance of all other religions and enjoins war or fighting on those who refuse to submit to their god they call Allah. It demands everyone to submit to Allah, authorizes Jihad (Holy War) against idolaters or infidels (non-Muslims), and demands the execution of anyone who converts from Islam to any other religion. Not only is this seen clearly round the globe, but history has provided us with some notable quotes of which Bill Connor gave us a small sampling. Here’s a small sampling of verses in the Qu’ran that show Islam is not a religion of peace. And by the way these verses are not out of their context. Look them up on the Web and see for youself.
ch.2.216 “Fighting is enjoined on you, though it is disliked by you; and it may be that you dislike a thing while it is good for you, and it may be that you love a thing while it is evil for you;
ch.2.244 And fight in the way of Allah, and know that Allah is Hearing and Knowing.
ch. 3.4 … Those who disbelieve in the messages of Allah – for them is a severe chastisement. And Allah is mighty, the Lord of retribution.
ch. 4.74 So let those fight in the way of Allah who sell this world’s life for the Hereafter. And whoever fights in the way of Allah, be he slain or be he victorious, We shall grant him a mighty reward.
ch. 4.76 Those who believe fight in the way of Allah, and those who disbelieve fight in the way of the devil. So fight against the friends of the devil;
ch.4.84 Fight then in Allahs cause – thou art not responsible except for thyself;
ch 4.88-91 deals with dealing with hypocrites … 89 They long that you should disbelieve as they have disbelieved so that you might be on the same level; … Then if they turn back (to hostility), seize them and kill them wherever you find them, … 91 … So if they withdraw not from you, nor offer you peace and restrain their hands, then seize them and kill them wherever you find them. And against these We have given you a clear authority.
ch. 8.12 … I am with you, so make firm those who believe. I will cast terror into the hearts of those who disbelieve. So smite above the necks and smite every finger-tip of them
Here’s a verse that says it all …. ch. 8.39 And fight with them until there is no more persecution, and all religions are for Allah.
This is just a small sampling of the verses that call and exhort Muslims to fight. Not a defensive fight but an offensive and aggressive fight. And notice the last verse I just used (v.39 of the 8th chapter), teaches that war for Allah is to go on until “all religions are for Allah”. No room for misinterpretation here.
Islam has not hidden its goal for worldwide domination. Muslims that know their Qu’ran will therefore never cease to fight, kill, and make war in the name of Allah until Islam is the religion of every nation on earth. We see it almost daily. The hate speech and intolerance emanating from adherents to Islam and the Qu’ran is out in the open for everyone to see yet the Christian is branded intolerant. Has anyone else besides me noticed that every evil thing such as abortion, homosexuality, terrorism, alcoholism, adultery, licentiousness, gambling, evolution, children out of wedlock and so on, is tolerated yet wholesome Christianity is not tolerated? Go figure.
Bill Connor in his article mentioned that the most dangerous enemy wasn’t “terrorism” but the “true enemy of the United States is the culture and rhetoric of radical Islam,” which exhorts the submission of the world to Islam. The most dangerous long-term enemy to America is the extremist imams, radical theologians, and other “spokesmen” for world conquest.” This is true Bill but you forgot one other true enemy of America. This other enemy and I do mean enemy, is just as dangerous, treacherous, harmful and hurtful to the United States. It’s the blind naive fool who thinks we’re not being mindful of the First Amendment since we can see Islam for what it really is and know that a Mosque two blocks from ground zero becomes a symbol of the success of those fighting to spread Islam through any means. I’m not saying all Muslims are bad. They’re not. But it sure doesn’t take any brains to see Islam is not a religion of peace and in my opinion Mayor Bloomberg, President Obama and Jason Etheredge bring one word to my mind. Treason.
