Muslims have no problems with English translations of the Koran, sort of. In fact they even propagate “Read the Koran yourself before you judge Islam” campaigns. But as soon as you don’t like what you read, they will claim your not understanding it because “you have to read it in Arabic to understand it”.
But consider this, only around 20 percent of all Muslims are Arabic. Muslims “recite” (is the meaning of Koran) the Koran in Arabic but don’t understand it because most of them are non Arabic speaking people. Although all Semitic languages are more beautiful and complex than English, Arabic is no more noble than Hebrew or Aramaic. So to say Arabic cannot be correctly rendered in other languages begs one big question,,, then why is it translated and what good is a text that cannot be understood? Even the vast majority of those Muslims that read Arabic read colloquial Arabic, NOT the classical Arabic that the Koran was written in. So DON”T fall from this trick from Muslims, they are only trying to silence and discredit you.
